I don't think it's so much about age as it is about events... though certain realizations also occur, but there are usually events that lead up to those thoughts (there are epiphanies, of course...). I think there's a point where it becomes nearly impossible for you to be "just friends" with a member of the sex you're attracted to because of underlying sexual tensions. It's hard to pinpoint when that is, as it varies from person to person, but I'd say that starting around puberty. In America, it's hard to turn on the television without seeing sex, violence, or politics and children nowadays are being pressured to grow up fast. I think that the school system is to blame because, starting in early years, there is pressure to do well in order to get into the "gifted" classes in middle school, because one needs to be in those classes in order to get into the honors/Advanced Placement classes in high school and if you don't take AP classes in high school, you're doomed to go to a community college and get a job in food services or retail.

wellll uhm..... sometimes between 12 and 15 but more then likely between 14 and 20.

start to lose??? it isnt a gradual process.. it just happens.. maybe at 16 or 17
