That is Che Guevara, an Argentine-born Marxist revolutionary, political figure, and leader of Cuban and internationalist guerrillas.

He is known as a socialist and communist fighter. He would lead to poor and downtrodden in various countries, to gain political power and instal socialist, marxist, or communist governments.

Eventually, he was captured and executed by the Bolivian Army.

You have already heard that the man in the picture is Che Guevara, but it is also important to note that this is probably a silk screen done in the style of Andy Warhol, one of the founders of Pop Art. He did several "paintings" like this, where he silk screened the same image over and over again in different (usually bright) colors. It is possible that this is an image that was forged by Gerard Malanga, who worked with Warhol, and not created by Warhol himself.
