the doctor told her it was okay for the 1st trimester but by her 2nd she still wasnt gaining that much so he put her on a high calorie diet.

Some people vary. Do you have alot of morning sickness that causes you to not eat as much? Has your appetite changed much. As long as you are not dieting to lose weight it should be okay. If you are concerned talk to your doctor. They will help you. I lost alot of weight and I am16 weeks. This was because a combination of things. First off, I had severe nausea from week 10 to beginning of 12 and none before of after. Just that time frame. I would have thought it could have been food poisoning had I not known I was pregnant. I haven't been sick since. Then I was taking hypothyroid medication (of course I still am) that regulated my hormones so I started losing weight. You'll probably start gaining more weight anywhere from 24 to maybe 30 weeks. Some people do not gain. I have not gained any weight and I am 16 weeks. If it is a significant weight loss it would be good to be checked out. But normally 5 even 20 pounds can be normal. Also, it also depends if you are a bigger woman. Sometimes women just naturally lose weight. I think why I lost so much weight is because I do not drink sodas, I can not eat fast food or unhealthy foods without being grossed out. Congratulations and if you are worried as I said I would call your doctors office.

Yes it's normal says my doctor because I have lost weight every month since being pregnant and the doctor said that is fine not unusual at all but she said come my next appointment she wants me to have gained a little back. Unless your doctor seems overly concerned I wouldn't worry about it because the baby is getting it's nutrients from you regardless. I would suggest though if you are having severe morning sickness to talk with your dr about getting some medicine to help with that..

I know exactly what you are going through I did the same thing. They say in the first trimester your weight will go up and down but not to worry you can gain what you didn't in the second trimester. Protein shakes are a great way to gain weight if you are worried about it. But I would also talk to your doctor and see what they think about it.

When I was about 3 months pregnant, my belly was much flatter than it was before i was pregnant at all!

Usually, this is because of morning sickness, and not being able to keep as much down as usual. That, or maybe your eating a bit healthier with bubba on board?

Either way, both me, my mother and my sister lost weight - before we stacked it on from month 4 onwards. I'm 8 and a half months pregnant now and my belly is 15" rounder than it was at 3 months.

It isn't "normal" perse, but you have to start eating more. My sister's morning sickness was so horrible, she lost 20 pounds before she started actually gaining. This is not healthy at all for the baby growing inside you. It is acceptable that it raids your fat stores to nourish itself, but you should be eating enough of the right foods to prevent that, because if this continues, it is not good at all for you or the baby.

I understand where you are coming from because I am currently having a hard time eating enough myself, but for the sake of my growing baby, I sure do try.

Thyroid disease is one of the most common health problems we face today. From a practical standpoint, there are many ways to approach this issue. Learn here https://tr.im/hJ7fC

Hypothyroidism, or underactive thyroid, is a very common problem, and there are many reasons for this, including drinking chlorinated and fluoridated water, and eating brominated flour.

Chlorine, fluoride, and bromine are all in the same family as iodine, and can displace iodine in your thyroid gland.

Secondly, many people simply aren't getting enough iodine in their diet to begin with. The amount you get from iodized salt is just barely enough to prevent you from getting a goiter.
