Find a clinic in your area that offers free pregnancy testing. A clinic affiliated with a local hospital will probably be the best. They'll do a test (even if you already know you are), ask if you want to talk to a counselor, do the medicaid paperwork for you, and help you make your first appointment with a doctor.
The medical costs associated with pregnancy, birth, and a baby's first year can be really high. Don't let pride keep you from applying for Medicaid, and don't put off going to a doctor. In the meantime, buy some prenatal vitamins at the grocery store or drug store, and start taking them. If you smoke or drink, stop now, and also find a good book about pregnancy so that you'll know what your body is going to be doing for the next 9 months...What to Expect When You're Expecting is probably the best pregnancy book I read (and I read at least 10).
Congratulations on your pregnancy!

OK, My wife didn't have any health coverage with our daughter, but she didn't stop care because of how important it is. She went to a local charity clinic while applying for medicaid. To do that go to your local healt unit and get an application or request information on how you can. This is government assisted insurance. Meaning this is what you pay taxes for. Once my wife was covered she chose a OB she was comfortable with that accepted that type of coverage and had no problems. It also covered our daughter until she was 2. Then you could apply for the same type of coverage for your child. It was a blessing. It took care of everything, Prenatal pills , you name it. Check it out, but in the mean time check out some charity hospitals some of them have women clinics.

It depends on where you live. Your state should have some kind of Medicaid program for you. I don't have any insurance either so I went to my local public aid office and got help. Copy and paste this into your browser
http://www.americanpregnancy.org/planningandpreparing/affordablehealthcare.html
or just go to americanpregnancy.org and they have a section about insurance, that should help.

In Nc there is a program called BabyLove through the DSS. You might also check out Pregnancy Counseling Centers. They have lots of information. Good Luck.
