As has been pointed out in the TV Times interview with David Tennant, the third season of 'Doctor Who' will start on BBC1 in March. Moreover, the BBC Press Office have stated that the date they're working with is March 24.

So, can anyone tell me why, whenever someone asks when the new season of 'Doctor Who' starts, some people still insist it'll begin on Easter Saturday (ie. April 7)?

BTW, contrary to the first answer, season 3 has not yet finished filming, let alone been broadcast yet.

The BBC have released that it is out in 'Spring', which could make either March or April possible. I have only heard of the release date of March the 24th, rather than Easter Sunday, but the BBC have not confirmed this as far as I know, all the websites seem to site that as of yet the BBC have not ear-marked a certain date.

Easter Sunday may be simply speculation by fans, there are all sorts of rumours going around the 'net.

Lets hope it comes out sooner rather than later ; )

(it is season three: season 1 was with the 9th doctor, season 2 with tennant as the tenth, and season 3 coming up. Tennant has apparently agreed to do series 4 in an interview)

PS. I saw them filming doctor who!

Do you mean Season 4? Season 3 is already over. Check out Scifi.com for more info on it.

starts next Saturday (thirty first March) right here interior the united kingdom, so it possibly won't commence on the sci fi channel till the sequence ends on BBC1. So a minimum of thirteen or 14 weeks away I reckon. perchance sometime in July on the earliest.
