If you are looking for a bit to drill a vee-shaped hole, there are a few solutions.

My first pick would be a plain old reamer. Next would be a countersink. They both mount in any drill chuck, and there's nothing special about either one.

You don't say how large a hole is needed, but countersinks are avilable at any decent hardware store up to 1". Reamers can get quite large.

Sounds like a step bit will do what you are asking for. It is shaped like a cone, which is probably he closest you are going to get to an arrowhead. They usually have about 5 steps or so, increasing the diameter of the hole the farther you drill. They are available in various sizes and usually will fit in a 3/8" or/ 1/2" drill chuck. They are available at any home improvement or hardware store. For $100 you should be able to get a few of them of good quality.

I am not sure about the arrow head desciption...

Spade bits are kinda shaped like an arrow, but drill fairly ragged holes.

Forstner bits look kinda sorta like an arrow. They drill very clean, flat-bottomed holes in wood. Porter-Cable is a good brand (sold at Home Depot, etal). Rockler.com has some very nice ones, but are rather pricey.

Sets run from $25.00 and up, depending on number of bits included.

Why don't you look at an adjustable circle cutter for wood? I believe made by the "Irwin" tool co. they sell standard wood bits, commonly known as ,Spade Bits. It's adjustable from smaller size up to a fairly large size.I don't remember the exact size.I think Forstner Bits are way to expensive.

You might be looking for Forrester bits. Try any hardware store. You should be able to buy a whole set for less than $100.
