For those not in the know:

RTS = Real-Time Strategy
MMO = Massively Multi-Player (Role-Playing Game)
FPS = First Person Shooter

I choose...MMO!! Because I have a lot of time on my hands, but I can't commit to finishing anything.

None of them are "superior", but this is the order I would put them in from the most fun to least fun:
1. FPS
2.MMO
3.RTS
It is a hard choice... I like all genres though... RPG, fighting, strategy, adventure, puzzle, etc.

For FPS video games i might recommend in getting The Orange field which includes 0.5 existence 2, 0.5 existence 2 Episode one million & 2, Portal, and an information superhighway FPS referred to as group citadel. For RPG's i might recommend any indoors the dominion Hearts sequence, any indoors the appropriate fable sequence and Fallout 3.

ah! i agree with the role-playing part, but i'm much more of a single player RPG fan.
i love playing with others online, but to me it still doesn't beat a rich storyline.

some of my favorites:
the elder scrolls 3 and 4 (morrowind and oblivion)
baldur's gate (the first one for pc...around '95ish)
the icewind dale trilogy
the legend of dragoon
any final fantasy i can get my hands on
neverwinter nights 2 (first one was too repetitive)

and i was hooked on the MMORPG anarchy online for a while, that game is awesome!
