Do I have to be limited to actual MLB teams? If not, then my co-favorite teams are the Cleveland Indians from the first two "Major League" movies, the Buzz from "Major League: Back to the Minors", and the Bugs Bunny team mentioned earlier.
If I have to pick one of the 30 MLB teams, and if I have to use actual players (instead of fictional characters like Pedro Cerrano), then my favorite team depends on the schedule. For example, look at Opening Day. The Cubs are my favorite team that day, even if they trot Carlos Zambrano to the mound (in which case I hope for a 20-19 Cubs win with all 19 runs allowed coming in the first inning). The same holds true on the final day of the season, since this is a rare year in which the Cubs play against the same team on Opening Day and the last day of the regular season. The last day before the All-Star Break, my favorite team is the Arizona Diamondbacks (and I hope Brandon Webb is pitching). The first day after the All-Star Break, my favorite team is the New York Mets (if Pedro isn't able to pitch by then, I hope Tom Glavine or John Maine takes the mound). There's one thing those teams have in common, and it's who they play against at the time they're my favorite team (and if the asker likes that team, there goes any chance of me being "Best Answer").

Cincinnati Reds. I was a kid in the 70's and grew up with the Big Red Machine. If you ask me, the starting 8 was one of the best - if not THE best - lineups ever.
3B-Pete Rose (Hit King, All Century Team)
LF-Ken Griffey Sr.
2B-Joe Morgan (HoF)
C-Johnny Bench (HoF, All Century Team)
1B-Tony Perez (HoF)
RF-George Foster
Cesar Geronimo
SS-Dave Concepcion (Should be in HoF)
I've been a die hard ever since. You will not find another team that had this many HoFamers playing together in the prime of their careers. And Pete and Davey should both be in, too.
By the way it would be pretty easy to win WS titles like the Yankees if you had 4x's the $$$ to spend every year than the average club. The same year the Yanks signed Giambi the Reds had to trade their utility player because he was up for arbitration and they couldn't afford to pay him! And it's always been that way. The Yanks bought the Babe for $100,000 in 1920 cuz the Red Sox owner was strapped for cash. I guess that's why the Yanks beat the Reds in the '76 Series. No...wait....I'm mistaken. The REDS SWEPT THEM! OOOOOHHHHH!
GO RED LEGS!!!! 1st PRO BASEBALL CLUB!!!

i have been a mets fan since '75.( 9yrs old). My first ever ball game came when i visited grandma and grandpa in NYC and a good neighbor of theirs want to take me and my brother to a bll game. I said who ever wins this game will be my team,, mets beat the giants.
we dont have the history of the yankees,,, the aww factor of the cubs, or the region call like the dodgers. The mets have always been the underdog to someone. We will NEVER beat the yankee fan base. we will always be compared to the retransplanted dodgers or giants from when they were in NYC.
I am a die hearted mets fan cause there are people who think they can walk on me too. But once in a while,, i get to shine,, just like the METS

The Baltimore Orioles. Although they have not had a winning season in over 10 years and were just named as Sporting Magazine's worst baseball franchise, they are my team and I support them by buying shirts and hats and going to as many games as possible throughout the year.

Having been born in San Francisco in 1958 I was raised a Giants Fan. Having been drafted by the Tigers in 1976 I'm a Tigers Fan. This is possible because they are both in different Leagues.
