My son has some sort of rash on his hand. It just appeared out of nowhere and its bright red. Should I take him to the hospital right now? Or just put some vaseline or baby lotion on it.. Im really worried..

You could try neosporin, however a newborn might accidentally brush their hand against their eye and you don't want lotion in the eye.
It could be an allergic reaction. Keep an eye on the breathing and airway.

I would call the nurse advice line if your insurance offers anything like that. If not, I would call the hospital and ask them first. Good luck and hope everything is okay.

Don't apply anything until you know what it is...check him in a couple of hours and if it's spreading take him to the hospital...if not, call your childs pediatrician

it depends on what it looks like you might want to bring him in if it's something more serious than dry skin. there are rare times when lotion can irritate the skin more depending on what is causing the irritation.

If it's dark in colour, you should take him immediately to hospital. Or it could be an insect bite.
