No, Sidekicks are made jointly with T-Mobile. Its a marketing scam to get you to change cell phone providers as well as buy a new phone.
You said "my parents wont get you one"? You wont use it for anything more than showing off to your little high school friends, you wont use any of its core features that are meant for business folk, including the 3G internet capability. You'd be just as well off with a $100 SLVR on ebay and it would do everything you need. Save your parents some money and besides, next year when they come out with the Sidekick 4, you'll be wanting that one instead.

Sorry to tell you, but they're never going to anyone but T-Mobile. Danger Incorporated is strictly T-Mobile.
From someone who has had the Sidekick II and Sidekick III, they both sucked. I now have a SmartPhone. Which is like the BlackJack or Motorola Q. It's called the T-Mobile Dash. I really like this phone. Plus it has Wi-Fi internet. Exact same thing as a Sidekick though, but less breaking problems. I went through FOUR Sidekick 2's and two Sidekick 3's.
To the question at hand, it will never come to Cingular.
And to response to the answer above mine, the first one, that is also correct. You can use the GSM, but almost 80% of the Sidekick's functions will not work on it. All the data will not work, which is what the Sidekick requires to function. There is a "Sidekick Package" you have to have to let the Sidekick function.

Probably not since it is a T-Mobile exclusive, but it just so happens that T-Mobile and Cingular are both gsm carriers, which means you can buy an unlocked version and have it work on the Cingular network. If you can't find an unlocked version you can probably buy a T-Mobile branded one and have the T-Mobile CS Rep help you unlock it. The thing with this is you might end up paying more for it. Also note that some functions might not be supported by CIngular.
