Sometimes girls learn a little faster than boys do...in fact, I know they do.

My grandkids do sometimes overwatch television; however, this is where they learned to speak other languages.

For example, there is a station on the cable network called 'Noggin' and it's from age 1 year old and up. Each daily broadcast is from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. and they have various programs that children can relate to. One is Dora the Explorer, where my 3 year old granddaughter learned to speak some Spanish. She also learned to count, her alphabet from A-Z, her colors, the shapes and so forth. This is a strictly educational channel. I don't know where you are from, and do not know if it is available. However, you can also access Noggin online. The Web Site is: http://www.noggin.com

They have many things for children to become involved in. Coloring, interactive games and so on. Just click on the link and you can access it.

It is very enjoyable for the children and they will learn many things, among them the use of the computer. My 3 year old granddaughter is very good at the computer already...and she speaks like a sweet little lady. The nicest thing about it is, is that the child is rewarded each time they are successful at completing something.

This is just one way to help them learn and have fun while doing it. You can also make a reading time for them, or make up flash cards in which there are pictures, numbers or letters (or you can purchase them in decks) and you can play games with them and as a reward, they receive praise...like..."oh, wonderful...good job!" You'll be surprised how far that praise goes with children.

Well, I think the best thing to do is keep their brains active, and by active I mean....getting them involved in excersizing their brains by even playing education games, and things of that nature. Also getting them away from just playing video games.

You should learn how to spell correctly before worrying about making your child smarter. Send him/her to school at the appropriate age and have someone else help with the homework

Show him ways he can expand his thinking. Challenge him with interesting hobbies, take care for his socialization.

Most of all, do not push him!! Do not tell him "Sit and read! Get educated! Be smart!" This will lead to contra results.

When teaching your child, instead of correcting him by giving him/her the answer, give clues to direct him/her to the correct answer. And lots and lots of praising to encourage/motivate your child.
