Personally I think you are too young to go to Coachella. I've never been, but I think that at any massive festival like that a lot of people will be drinking and doing drugs. Occasionally crazy things happen at festivals, like at one of the Woodstock festivals in the 90's when people were setting stuff on fire and some women were raped. I doubt anything like that will happen at Coachella, but still you should wait until you are old enough to be responsible for yourself. In the meantime, why don't you go to concerts in your local area? You can get a glimpse at the various types of people at concerts, before you go to a festival with thousands of them.

Well this is just plain silly. For 4 years now, I have gone with my 50 year old uncle who is a dentist, and my 3 cousins of various ages. You can't get alcohol without an ID there, and the drug use is limited because security is very tight.
Hippies?! The majority of the people are music lovers with sunscreen on. You even see families with their kids!
I say go! Have a fantastic time seeing your favorite bands!
Believe me. I'm a nice looking girl, and I often separate from my family to go see bands I want to see that they're not interested in. In 4 years, I've never had anyone give me any trouble.
Go! =)

For the most part, he is right. I was 16 when I went to my first big-concert-festival. I think I would've been more freaked out if I would've been 14. Besides, at 16 you can drive or ride with your friends and have more fun.
