Perhaps you should ask in the legal section, they might have more insight into the legality of the issue.

I don't think this is legal to save the life of a dyeing child while putting the other at risk if the hospital does not have enough machines they should get one brought to them from a different hospital or send the more serious infant to a better hospital for better treatment look into the hospital board on this matter. No child should be removed from a life saving machine unless that parents have said so or the child no longer needs it do to improved health. Doctors take that oath to do no harm whats up with this doctor he could be sued by the parents if that happens and the child the machine was taken from becomes very ill and does not survive

That is not legal. There must be more to the story.
If a life support machine (ventilator) was needed, they could have manually bagged the patient until another ventilator could have been tracked down.

Yes.. most likely, he can get in LOTS of trouble. Contact the people above the hospital and try suing the hospital, since the baby is at-risk of dying and parents wasn't able to give permission... uuuugh! Dr's .. gotta hate em!

I'm pretty sure he would need the permission of the family. You should consult an attorney for advice.

Maybee the baby was well enough to breathe on its own. They do have respiratory therapists that play with lungs all day long. So I was told at work to always ask them when it comes to folks breathing on their own or being on a vent.

I think we would need more information to form an educated opinon. and i think you would need to talk with a lawyer. I pray for the wellbeing of all babies and families involve in this situation.
