D-con will kill the mice, but it will also kill any animals that are eating the mice, so if you or your neighbors have cats or dogs, you could accidentally kill them too. D-con makes a mouse's blood unable to clot, so they slowly bleed to death internally. Their joints swell up and there's bruising everywhre, it's pretty brutal. And it's strong stuff, so if a cat or dog eats a mouse (dead or alive) that has D-con in it, that cat or dog will also bleed to death. If you have small kids, you MUST be EXTREMELY AWARE of this danger, because kids get into everything, and it will do the same to a toddler who eats some of it. Just thought you should know exactly what this stuff does before you buy it.

Try to plug up any holes leading into the apartment that you can find, under the sink where the drain comes through the wall, spaces between the cupboards and floors. Use that expanding foam aerosol insulation stuff, or thick weatherstripping. It may help keep them out.

Report the problem to the Super!/Manager. If the problem doesn't get better, you can report to the health department because mice carry salmonella and other diseases. As another suggested, a tiny amount of peanut butter on a VICTOR snap trap, where the trap latches, catches a mouse every time. You may have excessive mice for several reasons. Put away all dog and other pet foods, including wild bird food or store in Rubbermaid type containers. The weather in your area may be milder or a lot more severe than usual and the mice are unable to find food outside. Keep all human food put away as well. Mice will even eat raw potatoes when desperate. Put the traps next to outer walls and in areas where you see droppings or have seen mice. D-Con causes hemorrhaging and dead mice smell horrible, even just one.

go to the dollar store and get a bunch more mice traps. try to find where the little creature is coming in and put traps in that general area. if you can't find the entrance then spread them around your apartment remembering that they tend to follow along things - walls and cabinets and whatever else might be along the way. once you catch one check in that area for an opening and see if you can close it up.

choice two would be to borrow a cat. the cat will find it in no time and if it doesn't catch it at least you will know the general area it hangs out in.

I stay away from chemicals. what if it dies in a cabinet or under the couch? nasty smell, flies, and maggots. ick.

Please use a No-Kill trap like Havahart. You might be able to rent one from the hardware store. See havahart.com or victorpest.com for more info.

Also, place a few drops of "oil of peppermint" on some cotton and place where there is a mouse problem.
Mice are allergic to "oil of peppermint" (not the extract) and will not enter a property where they can smell it.

It doesn't matter if you get rid of all the mice...they are in the neighborhood and will keep coming...just keep killing them but know that they will always keep coming...I have the same problem...caught about 7 in week once...they disappear for a little while..then they come back...

Use a trap (small size) and don't use cheese because they can actually take it without getting caught.
Use a small amount of peanut butter. They will try and lick it and guaranteed you will catch them
I got 5 in one day in our garage.

Dcon might help. Also, if you can find the source of the mice - how are they entering, what is attracting them - that will solve the problem.
