Do you think that with an AMD Sempron 3400+ 1.8ghZ processor i could do office work, surf the net and may be have 1 or 2 games???

Please help me because I have no idea...

Absolutely. That processor is better than a Celeron of that speed and approaches a Pentium 4 of that speed in performance.

Office and internet do not need big guns, however if you want fast graphics and want to play some of the newer games, get at least a 256mb graphics card for this puppy.

Assume you are looking at the low end Dell Dimension, do not get the Radeon X1300 they offer as an option, instead, buy the machine at it's stock non-customized price and get yourself more memory and a graphics card on NewEgg.... save some bucks.

It is an okay processor. Web and office will go fine, but it depends on what type of games. If you are talking newer (Quake 4, Oblivion, etc) you will want to upgrade probably your hole system. If you are doing some easy gaming (such as WoW, C&C Renegade), then you might want to upgrade RAM and video card if they are old and/or low-end

1.8GHz will pretty soon be obsolete. Consider processors that are 2GHz and over.
