GED or diploma it makes no difference. The problem is the entrance exams for college, which are given in high school. Check w/pepperdine as far as requirements to get in. Be honest with them however. Don't feel bad about not finishing, I didn't either. I left school in the 8th grade, finished my GED, graduated Northwestern U. and now college prof. Good luck. If I can help please email me.

Hi -
They will understand totally! They won't view it that way at all. You can actually get an HSED (High School Equivilant Diploma, or something like that) and it is better then the GED.
The GED test is so amazingly easy. A preschooler could pass it. Not really, but you get what I am saying.
I don't know of any sample GED tests. They will give you them, and let you know how you will probably do on the tests.
Good luck!

it's better to pass it than not have it, a diploma is 100x better if you want to apply to a 4yr school. You'll most likely have to go to community college with a GED. You can transfer after you do 1-2 yrs at DCCC to a 4yr college. GED's pretty easy, although some people fail thier drivers test 6 times so maybe. your local library should have a GED program to help you review and give you a practice test.

Colleges do not mind if you have taken the GED, heck you can attend college without having your HS diploma. Below is a link where you can take a look at a GED test example.
Good Luck!

I'm sure they prefer that you finished school, but plenty of people get their GED. Some schools don't accept GEDs, so don't plan on Harvard or anything, pick a state school.

It really does matter on the school, any community college won't care.
In California we have the Proficiency Test...its similar to a GED.
I took that and got out of high school at 17 as a junior.
I have been going to College ever since and I plan on transferring to SJSU soon.

you have a much better chance of getting into a good school with a HS diploma. if you plan to go to a community college first, then a GED will suffice

Depends on the school. Some schools say "High school diploma or equivalent".
