the blue collar workers formed and built the USA and continue to do so paying the highest percentage of tax across the board. Did you realize if you receive a bonus at work or on commission you are taxed 47% on that bonus?! yet the white collars all expect to get off scott free and not pay there fair share of the taxes, be exempted from it or pay a much lower percentage and still fell free to send ourtaxes overseas and not bring it on home and take care of their own people our own economy our own country. America is the richest country in the world it's high time we look and act like it. What impression does it give the other countries when they see how we take care of our own people? I think we should get standarized taxing! A Flat tax straight across the board, or even do away with FICA and just have a flat tax in the retail industry. Give your opinion......

I personally do receive commissions and bonuses as a part of my position with my company. As a result I know FIRST HAND EXACTLEY how much I am taxed on them and yes, it is 47%. When I receive my bonuses I know my net pay will be my bonus minus my base salary...(approx)

I have always liked the idea of getting rid of all income taxes and going to a pure sales tax system. Then we can get rid of the IRS and put the money poured into that department into other more needed areas. The benefits of sales taxes is that it also catches all the illegal money in the country, money that is undeclared. Because the more money you have, the more you spend, the more taxes you pay. The less money you have, the less you spend, the less taxes you pay.

I have always liked that system.

Egads -- I too like the flat tax idea but you do not know what you're talking about, all your tax "facts" are quite wrong.

There is no standard 47% tax on bonuses -- ouch, you could do some very basic research and learn about marginal tax rates and how they work, and also become acquainted with the difference between state tax, federal income tax, and social security taxes

Blue collars workers emphatically do not pay a higher percentage of tax, they pay a much, much lower percentage of tax than affluent white collar workers etc.

But I'll quit beating you up if you promise to vote for a flat tax when you can -- you clearly arrived there by accident, but many people like me who actually, you know, possess actual knowledge about taxation like the idea too.

there is not any standardized tax. The $5700 is the "widely used deduction", that's the quantity which you would be able to earn devoid of paying any federal earnings tax. The $5700 isn't a tax and you do no longer pay it. regardless of the undeniable fact that, whether you're unemployed or circulate to a diverse united states of america, then you definately would be required to pay tax on the activity on your investments.

The top 20% of money earners pay 80% of the taxes.

Tax rates go up as people earn more money. Lower income people pay the lower taxes in the current system.

Progressive taxation seems good to me it's a way to help the poorest among us. Of course, some folks have managed to find cracks in the system and are not contributing the part they should.
Lets not tow the baby with the bath water. Let's fix theses cracks in the taxation system so everyone contribute to the nation wealth according to their wealth.

Too much of our tax dollars go overseas. It should be illegal for even one tax dollar to go to another country. We could live in Utopia if we didn't try to buy friends" it doesn't work anyway". Sending our tax money abroad is like buying candy for the neighbor's kids, while your own kids starve.

I'm in the 42% tax bracket for being upper middle class and I look at as my reward for being RESPONSIBLE and busting my butt.

Rich people pay a lower percentage.
Paper wealth pays a lower percentage.

Folks that get knocked up drugged up or whatever stupid-up they did THAT I DIDN"T get taken care of by my RESPONSIBILITY TAXES and they pay nothing.

What a f'd up mess the system is.
