actually i was wonderin if there's another way of speeding up besides buying more memory..

All the stuff on the desktop slows it down, so put all that stuff in folders on the drive instead.

Type MSCONFIG at Start>RUN
unclick ALL programs under the startup tab, hit APPLY and then reboot.

When it comes back up tell it to ignore the use of the config utility in the future, it will prompt you on startup.

Use your computer and only re-enable what you are really missing. (if anything)

Now, get a registry cleaner and run it.

More memory is also the best way to increase performance after your computer is running lean.

You could try to de-frag(Start,Programs,Accessories,System Toos,Disk Defragmenter), this will sort out your computer and will increase the speed...

Or you could try to double your RAM...
