I am trying to get past a password undetected on the laptop. So far, I tried the advice I could find previously at Y.A. and have gotten to F8 screen choices from Safe Modes, Reboot, Return to OS Choices Menu, etc. Where do I go from here to monitor this computer from a distance without corrupting any current files or settings?

I would use a CD bootable os such as miniPE. This will run a OS from the cd without effecting the OS on the hard drive. Once the cd has loaded you can view whatever you want to on the hard drive or what ever it is you want to do.

This will also allow you to change user account passwords (such as the Admin account) and many other settings on the hard drive OS.

Safe-Mode

Oh, and by the way, if this laptop is your, and you want the password back, just e-mail me. I can tell you how to go into Safe-Mode, get the SAM file and use a cracker to find the password.

Your choice.
