It's not the responsability thing because I've had anywhere from horses to sheep to hermit crabs. Mom was really getting into liking snakes but now the answer is 'no'. I think they don't want to spoil me cause my sister was allowed to buy anything she wanted, sooo... any ideas out there?

I do have a job, so it's not for a lack of money. Currently I have a Beardie and 2 hermit crabs. You may ask "well, what else could you want?" I'm an animal lover, what more can I say :)

Try to respect their wishes as much as possible. I know its hard while being under age. I hated respecting my parents...!!! Uuugh.. Anyway, I'm now 18, so I can do pretty much what I want, but the point is..

While respecting them, try to negotiate something.. Parents love negotiations.. haha

For example:

"If I keep my room clean, wash dishes, do laundry..can I still get a ________." Or.... can I save my money, learn responsibility and raise a snake? This will teach me responsibility.

Good luck!

Michelle

Wait till you get your own place. And get a boa they are more gentle (for lack of a better term) and easier to handle. Look into a Colombian red-tail

my friend was only allowed to have one under the condition it was to be kept outside , in a cage on the porch, so maybe she has a problem with the snake bing in the house?
