The traits of a name come from what you believe it to be. The part of the way we think. Projecting metal pictures of someone by name is common It help us relate them. We make judgments based on past experiences. A name is just a word that we identify someone to. The person make that name more then letters stuck together.

I can't speak for anyone else, but for myself , when I meet someone with a name I've never known any one else by, they become the face of that particular name for me. Then to my own stupidity when I meet someone else with the same name I'm surprised that they don't have similar characteristics. I have to remind myself that that's what makes the world an interesting place, both our similarities and our differences. I have two good friends, both with the same name Janis/Janice. Both wonderful gals with totally different personalities, opposite ends of the spectrum really, yet they both inspire a deep and lasting freindship. There will always be preconceived notions about almost anything under the sun, its our role to get past that and be open minded to differences as well, so you'll be a compassionate human being

At a psychiatric hospital I once worked in the nursing field I had the unfortunate duty (being newly hired) of screening resumes. I was unofficially instructed to '****-can' resumes in which the name appeared to reflect a certain segment of our population. It was pitiful but fairly easy to do. Enough on that now.

human beings take the least confusing direction that's exciting, through fact if I create a direction for them, they're going to take it on their own. I then have administration over their 'unfastened will' through fact maximum are too lazy to make their own way.

If you hear the name "Shaniqua," what mental image springs to mind?
As to the "why," I'd say that simple past experience and social upbringing dictates that sort of thing.
