What examples of social conflicts can be found in the story?
Any good sites where I can find helpful notes about social conflict in the book?

Controversy abounds in this story. Take any modern issue, both liberal and radical feminism, regionalism, racism, etc, and you can find commentary embedded in the text. Unfortunately, the best articles on line are through J-Stor, which anthologizes critical literary journals--your local university library would normally have access. You are welcome to try google scholar, which I just did, but be prepared to sift through the hits. Try the link below for an article published by "Universal Journal; The Association of Young Journalists and Writers."
