How can I color/paint a large area of grass?

So I kinda want to write a message on soccer field in red and black paint but I haven't the slightest idea as to how I could do it well and relatively inexpensively. I have though of getting the white chalk used on soccer and football fields, colouring it red with dye/paint, then putting it through a manual fertilizer spreade. Anyone else got a better way please?

if you go to your home improvement store you can buy chalk already powdered. I know it comes in red and blue, dont know about black. You can take a less permanent approach and use food coloring. Like the other person said, they sell refillable spray cans at craft stores and you could use that. good luck, no profanity on the field k?

uh well how bout thinkinb about it? how bout you get on the ground and use a paint brush? it might work? you should try it and next time think before you speak or in this case think before you ask.
