Not necassarily. I went from public school to private school and I liked some things about it and not others. Public school didn't have as many options as my private school did. Private schools have more money to go on trips. Which is nice. I found the education at private school a little better.

The only thing I don't like about my private school, is that it is so small that there is only 6 girls in my grade, and I don't like any of them. When a new kid comes along the girls are so wrapped up with each other they don't even care a new person has come along. This is what happened to me, and i regret going to this school ever since! lol.

Public school also has different kinds of people that you meet. Alot of different ethnic groups. This is nice because you get to meet and know different kinds of people! At private school you wont really find this.

Another thing about private school that I like, is that since private schools tend to be smaller you can get very individualized attention. If you are having trouble with something the teacher can be like a tutor to you. That REALLY helped me with the areas I needed help.

I think there are some FABULOUS public schools and some FABULOUS private schools. So...no, private school doesn't necassarily have to be better than public school. There are some public schools that are much better than private schools. So...you can't really be very general.

I think it's a give and a take. I went to both private and public schools and each had their strengths and weaknesses. The private schools I went to had small classes, so I got more individual help from teachers, and I felt more academically prepared. The advantage to public schools is I saw more of a diversity of different kinds of people, so I had to learn to deal with a broader scope of personalities as well as getting a better sense of the "real" world.

NO. Most private school teachers do not need to have a credential (which is required of public school teachers). Also the private schools are not held to any education standards, so you do not know whether the education you receive is the equivalent of the public school requirements.

Also they usually do not have the support necessary for students with special needs. Public school receive Federal money to have aides to help those who need extra assistance in the classroom.

Many offer bells and whistles (like language), but the classrooms typically have larger number of students, minimal diversity, and a small number of overall students. The smaller school size may seem like a benefit, but if there are only 10 girls in your class, and you are with those girls for 9 years (k-8), you are not really meeting lots of different people.

There are good public schools too. People just say private schools are better because there are smaller groups in classrooms so it seems like the student gets more one on one learning experience, dress codes, and sometimes lack of the opposite sex to distract students from their studies. Personally I think if the teachers are good you will pass the class.

It depends on what you consider "better".

In general, private schools= smaller class sizes, more individual attention.

But a lot of public schools in good areas are just as good as private schools.
Private schools can only offer a good environment--the education is generally not necessarily any "better" than education at public schools.

I was in private school from kindergarden to 5th grade, I am now in 9th grade and in Public School, so I have experience in both. Honestly, it depends on what private school, what public school and how you like to learn. If you like schools were they have more focus on individuals because of tiny classes (somethimes consisting of only 10 kids!) and like having more assemblies, and special programs then private school would be 'better'. But if you like having lots of classmates, meaning more friends and social activities the public school is better.

The work is about the same, depending on the school, but ive learned that some private schools are wayy more advanced, in one of my schools we were thought how to put together these old apple computers in 4th grade, and we started second language course by 1st grade.

I think certain people fit better into private skools and certain people fit better into public. The people who go to private skool generally are"good"so they are considered to b the best but public skool helps the "bad" and becauz of this has a bad reputation

Some are, as they have smaller class sizes, stricter discipline, more individualized help. Now that so many people are in the private schools, they might go down in quality (class size could increase, kids might become harder to control and teach, etc.).

Anything has to be better than a US Public School. However, if you want the Best - go to Eaton or Harrow.
