If you wrote your final, you probably had to sign an exam attendance sheet (or desk plan) to show you were there and where you sat. This is a standard procedure in just about every school. That is proof enough that you wrote the exam; you should contact the principal and bring this matter up.

You might want to bring one or two other people from the class, who presumably also saw you write an exam, with you.

It's unlikely she lost it on purpose; the fact is teachers see on average 150 students or more a year, they don't see you enough to make or hold grudges... the fact is, you simply aren't important enough. You may be a pain when you are in class, and some people simple don't get along together..but I doubt she's really out to get you.

However, there is lots of paper to sort through at the end of a term, and it is possible she lost it.

Maybe she is just irresponisble some teachers are like that. From now on if you have her again, e-mail her your assignement with read recipts attactached to them so that you know that she recieved it and and that way you can save those recipts and turn them into the dean of that department and tell him/her that you do your work. ALso if the teacher took roll the day of the final obviously you were there so that can also be proof that yes you did take the test and once again I would take it to the dean. ALso print out everything twice so when she says she lost it you can be prepared to to give her another on right on the spot so that you can shut her up.

it is a little presumptuous to assume she lost your paper on purpose, however, a teacher has to follow a level of professionalism, and if this has happened in the past it would not be inappropriate to confront her about it, point out that this isn't the first time it has happened and see what she can offer you for rectification. If she doesn't offer some satisfactory explanation or allowance you should go to the Dean (( I'm assuming you're in college)) That she is under. Whether she likes you or not, it's no excuse for her to conveniently loose your papers, and that aside, she should be professional and organized enough not to loose ANYONES papers. Remember if your in College, she works for you, you pay to get an education and thus she has obligations to be organized, professional, and to provide the education you are paying for.

I tend to assume the best, so I am going to say that this was an accident.

I've noticed that the meanest, grumpiest teachers are also the worst teachers, and the worst teachers are also the most irresponsible.

Maybe I'm naive, but I have a hard time picturing a teacher that is that cruel, and would go out of her way to rewrite and regrade a separate test just to make you take another one.

i think it's an accident. as a teacher, it is a TOTAL pain to make someone retake a test...i hate it. i don't like to spend extra time with kids that i don't particularly care for either....so, i think this was purely an accident.

also, on the upside, i doubt she dislikes you as much as you say. most of the time, teachers get mad at kids they think can be better students. we don't like to see kids do badly when we know they are smart. also...if you screw around in class, well, stop it. that really does bother teachers. but if you don't...i doubt she dislikes you as much as you think.

Maybe she's just a sloppy teacher and really lost your paper. If the future make a copy.

Just because she lost it on accident doesn't mean she's not a bad teacher. This sounds sucky. But I seriously, seriously doubt she'd lose it on purpose. Maybe not take reverent care of it (which she should) but flush it down the toilet? Nah.

Maybe she is trying to give you another chance. Did you do ok on the test? Maybe you failed and she needs an excuse for you to take it again.

Yeah right, that's what all students say when they are irresponsible.
