Whales and dolphins are air-breathing mammals, when they sleep they are close to the surface with their blowhole above the level of the water and their body below. Think of a gentle arc with only the top of the head popping above the surface of the water.

They snore a lot. Some people call this Whale-Song, and say they are trying to communicate with each other. But they really just have deviated septums.

Who says they have to sleep at night? They sleep during the day too. They sleep by remaining motionless at the bottom or slightly boyant.

lots of people are killing them and they can communicate from ocean to ocean so they are well informed
