I'm a US citizen and I'm applying for a visit visa to the UK. I need a letter of invitation to visit my boyfriend and we're not sure how to write this letter. Should it be typed or handwritten? Does it need to be a letter to me or to whoever recieves my application?

Hi there,
I *think* you only need a visa if you are staying here for more than 90 days. There is an official website specifically written for your situation with a "do i need a visa" and "how to apply" - which you can do online, in person at a british consulate or by post. It seems you need to FedEx the documents if you choose the postal option and the website does not state whether handwritten or typed applications are preferred. Personally i would apply online - it seems the easiest option.
Good luck!
