Oh, for goodness sake, silly answers above.
The snake is one of the oldest symbols in the occult world.
It virtually always represents ancient wisdom, which we can all access as we are all made of the same stuff as each other, and the same stuff as the universe.
To dream of a snake is a powerful thing. It means you have connected in some way with the total sum of wisdom in the world. I hope this helps you. Go with your instinct and try to understand why the snake appeared.

Freud would tell you that it has something to do with sex. (snake = penis) But then again he said that about everything.
Someone with a more rational, less sex-obsessed mind though, would tell you that what a dream means varies from person to person. (What a snake represents to one person will be something totally different from what it represents to someone else) And it doesnt always mean anything at all. Sometimes dreams are just random bits of things that you saw or happened to you that get mixed up and run through your head. It doesnt necessarily mean anything.
