I heard something one night a long time ago when I lived in New Mexico and it was the dead of winter. I got up and went into the bathroom where the noise came from. I opened the closet door thinking the dog had gotten trapped in there. WRONG. There was an Indian man standing in there and I ran, screaming bloody murder. It scared him and he ran out of the house and left his shoes inside the door. It was below zero outside and I think he had just come inside to get warm. I certainly made sure the doors were locked after that!

Mine would have to be a dead mouse. A friend of mine was pretty upset when she was moving into a house she had just bought and found the last owner's vibrator in the closet.
