I live in Maryland and was wondering who takes passport pictures- ive heard ritz does it, anyone know anywhere else?

You might want to check out your local Costco and post office. Both of these places offer passport photo services in my town.

where i live walmart does it but not very well, walgreens does it better. just go to a store like walgreens or walmart, and ask at the photo section, or ask at the place where you go for a passport. if you dont ahve a main office in your area for passports, go to the local courthouse and inquire or look it up on the internet. thats what i did and got my passport not too long after. there are specifications for the pix also found on the US govt sites where passports are handled, and something most people dont know is the pictures dont have to be done by a photo shop, but do have to meet exact dimensions and be bright and sharp with a plain white background. walgreen here used a simple consumer digital camera costing about $145, to take successful pix, and walmart's thousand dollar passport cam failed. also make sure you get more than one pix. 2 are required to get a passport and believe me you will find need for more if you or a potential spouse intend to move internationally.

Remember -- for your passport you need 2 identical pictures.
In addition to the big places (like Walmart) lots of little places do it too. In my neighborhood there is even a Chinese market that will do them for you!

AAA in Calif. does it for free for its members, you might want to check where you are. I just had mine taken for $7.99 at Walgreen Drugs because AAA's camera was being repaired. I'm not sure if Wal*Mart does it. If so, they're probably cheaper than other drugstores.

Most photo processing stores will do it, including Walgreens and CVS.
Also if you are a AAA member, they do it cheap.
