Like if my computer doesn't have the processer needed and I downloaded a patch can i play the game? Like I want to play The lord of the ring the battle for middle earth but my comp doesn't have all the requirements. So if I download a ptach can I play part of the game like a map or two?

ummm... you're basically asking can you buy the fuel for the car, can you drive the fuel without having the car.
The answer is no.
Think about it, it's a 'patch'. What would you call a 'patch' anywhere else?
eg. you patch a hole in a roof
eg. you patch a hole in a tyre

No you can't. You have to have the game. That patch is just a add on for the game. You can't play it if you don't have the main game.
