My best guess is to run it in safe mode or reinstall the program.

it sounds as though it is corrupted. i would go to start, control panel, add or remove programs, find it, and remove it.

then i'd go to www.lavasoft.com and download its personal version again.

i've not had any problem whatsoever in the years i have used it. so maybe part of it strayed too far from other of its values in the registry.

i never touch my registry! nor would i get the software that supposedly fixes it: it doesn't, it just messes it up more. it sounds like pc-clean is a registry cleaner. if so, i'd probably disable it before i downloaded a clean install of adaware.

you don't, i hope, run 2 or more antivirals on your system? or more than one firewall? what about other programs like antispyware and spamkillers? you can always disable any or all of these when you take the install. but it is not necessary to disable, for sure, mcafee antivirus or personal firewall. yet, maybe you should go to mcafee just to see if you need to upgrade?

how often do you use: ie (i hope it isn't ie 7 !!!), tools, and then on the general tab, "clean temporary cookies," as well as "delete temporary files?" i do it about 4x a week.

you should also set up automatic defragging of your hard drive. all you need do is use start, all programs, accessories, system tools, defrag. analyze the drive first. it shouldn't ever be more defragmented than 85%. so defrag it if less than that, and then set up an automatic defrag right there.

oh! another thing: you can disable your antiviral, then go to, i suggest, trendmicro.com and perform a "house doctor" virus scan. after you do that and nothing needs to be killed, put your own antiviral back on.

that little program is soooooo good that i am surprised that more people do not use it.

ooooo! i forgot: at worse, do a system restore, which is also found in system tools.

happy computing! hope it helped!

What are these critical objects? Process? Modules? Registry? Files? Try clearing out all your cookies and temporary internet files, and run again. Erase everything in your Temp folders. I suspect you will have to reinstall Adaware.

Install a couple antispyware apps and let them run a full scan. Ad-Aware alone can not protect your pc. There are quite a few free apps that works great:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/

Uninstall PC clean and Arovax because they are not very good at removing anything at all.

uninstall it from your add/remove programs page and reinstall it fresh and hopefully that will sort out any problems, dont forget to reboot your pc after dumping it or the new install may be effected
