It just seems to have lost its edge. It's no fun anymore. Somehow Ashlee Simpson and Jojo just aren't the same as Madonna and Janet Jackson.

Feeling a little nostalgic? I agree, but then again, I never listened to Janet Jackson, and a lot of the Pop music today is not that different from her music. Actually, I am not a fan of vocalists, so neither Madonna nor Janet do anything for me. I did listen to Soul Asylum and The Replacements in the 80s and 90s. They were musicians who wrote their own music, played guitars and drums, and did they write a Pop song or two.

i accept as true with u thoroughly! todays music has no soul! eccpecially that rap sh*t! what the f*** is soulja boy! some new music is particularly stable yet its no longer as stable as music from th 60s and 70s. ive continuously seen myself to have been born in the incorrect era. im basically like this way of hippie. and im 13. im a extensive fan of the beatles, jimi hendrix, queen, poison, and all music from the 50s-90s. i choose i ought to bypass back to the 60s or 80s or 40s or maybe even 20s. those cases looked lots relaxing. and that i dont see what the vast deal is with hannah montana and the jonas bros. theyre so gay! and theyre extra directed in direction of little little ones yet all human beings makes a huge deal approximately them.

I think you'll change your mind with the passage of time. In the 80s, people complained that pop music wasn't as "fun" as the 70s, etc. See how you feel in 10 years.

"Here In Your Arms" by Hellogoodbye is an example of a recent "fun" pop song.

I was really young in the '80s but I do remember the music being more fun. And I really like '90s music, but then again I've some great memories associated with it.

The originality of it is gone. Too many people are trying to be like somebody else instead of creating their own identity and sound. And that's not just going on in pop music. It's pretty much the whole music scene. Alot of it is the same old stuff over and over.

I agree. The 80's had originality and a uniqueness all of it's own. By the mid 90's, it seemed to finally fizzle out. And now Rap is in, and I find it monotonous. The music seems to have died. *sigh*

Oh yes! My 'fun' music is late 70's and early 80's.
DEF LEPPARD!!
some songs were really stupid like 'walk like an egyptian' and 'walk the dinosaur' 'i think I'm turning japanese' ??????
I loved the Hall and Oates songs, Lisa Lisa and cult jam,
who sang 'come go with me'? I loved Milli Vanilli!!!
I hate most music nowdays. Everyone wants to be a rapper. That's not music.
And country is getting to be rock. I hate that.
I think the most recent song I like is 'the way' by fastball. And that was a few years ago.
I liked Ace of Base, what happened to them?
Remember 'give it up' by KC and sunshine band??
