there are no laws here in the uk to stop this happening.
if someone knocks at the door,we have to answer it because our path to the door, goes right past the living room.
i had 2 of these people at the door not long ago,and after asking them to get off my property nicely,3 times, they still didnt shift.it was then that i resorted to the use of bad language and the very real threat to remove them by force.when my wife told them i wasnt joking, they left without further ado.i wouldnt give them the time of day,nor would i for any religious nutcase.

Yes I answer the door. I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. So either it is a fellow Witness or it is someone else. If the person wants to talk religion I am very Happy to talk with them. So far this has only happened once. Mostly When people come to the door they are asking for money for their camp or something along that line. Once 2 girls came asking for money so they could fly to France. To their credit they did not pretend the money was for school or religion, they simply wanted to go to France. Even in the case of these 2 I was still POLITE as I sent them on their way. I figure if I am happy with my beliefs, I should not mind POLITELY telling them so and showing how someone who believes as I do should act.

Honestly, it depends on my mood at the time. But, I NEVER feel guilty about not answering or answering and telling them I don't want to hear it. I feel the same with the charities that are constantly calling my house. I guess if it only happened rarely I might stand for it. But, I do not feel I have to put up with the constant intrusion into my life from people trying to convert me or get money from me for their charity. I have no problem saying no.

Once, three Jehovah's Witnesses came to the door when my mom and my brother (who was five at the time) were at home. My mom let them into the living room, then called my brother in and said that some nice men wanted to talk to him. He came in and spent the next five minutes talking nonstop (I mean it) about hippos, or whatever animal he was obsessing over at the time. My mom was listening from her room, and after five minutes of chatter, she heard the door slam shut. We never saw them again.
The moral? It's good to have a little brother who never shuts up. This is why, eight years later, I've trained him to do the same thing when religious zealots come to the door.

Are you sure they are Jehovah's Witness', because Mormons are most known for using bikes.
Yet if these people keep on knocking in your door time after time, isn't it because they have something important to tell us. I bet they will come back to that door and speak to that man patiently and nicely.

i sued to go up to the front door and flip the crucifix that was hanging in the front foyer upside down and put on a petagram necklace then open the door, if they started to speak of some god or something then i would just simply tell them that my god has more folowers and they would leave

I never judge anyone religion as far as i know it could be the one that God wont's me to hear and I'm not taking any chances with God and as far as you know you just turned God down Besides I don't think witnesses ride bikes and i know they don't send kids out . I think your just board and nothing better to do but put people down that are at least trying to save you.

i think we all are responsible for making our corner of the world a better place to live in. Your neighbor has every right to be frustrated at what he perceived as an annoying interruption of his evening, but has no right to demean or abuse the "offender". you did what i hope i would be able to do in that circumstance, be polite, yet not allow an unwelcome interruption to take time away from my family. good for you!

I tell them I'm busy. They usually catch me outside during the day. I would never open the door to a stranger! Never! Day or night. Too dangerous.
