I'll bet they are!
If my dad starts bugging me about something, all I have to say is "Oh, Daddy, could we go to the store? I need a new pack of pads, 'cause..."
And he's straight out the room in a flash! He acts like a little kid, telling me and my mom to shut up about it. ^^

Yes, I was grossed out for years. I was told too young about periods and in the wrong way. All I could think about was the movie "Carrie". I'm cool with it now, but I still get flashbacks, lol

No, it's part of life. If it weren't for periods neither you nor I would be here. This may be a little personal, but my wife likes me to "ride the red river" with her in the shower while she's on her period, and I am more than happy to captain the ship.
