Nokia 3230-How can I get back up from my messages(sms) which are on my phone memory?

Hi,
My mobile has been confused! recently I have bought a 512 MB ismart memory card when I capture or move any file from my phone memory to that memory I can not open it on that!! I receive unknwen file format!! and rarely I get system error message.I think I have to setup Nokia software again on that.so I will loose my information on phone memory like all of my messages(sms).I need them what can I do????
one more,, how can I format my phone and do master reset for refreshing the mobile like first time???

First, to backup your SMSes and everything else on your Phone Memory, you need Nokia PC Suite. The latest version is v6.82. You can download it here: http://nokia.co.uk/pcsuite

Install PC Suite. Follow the instructions on screen to connect your phone & then you can use the Backup/Restore Feature to backup your phone data (and later restore it to your phone).

Factory Reset simply puts all the settings back to what the default settings were set to at the factory.

For Soft Format or Factory Reset enter this code
*#7370# or *#7780#
The phone will ask for the security code. It is 12345 by default - unless you changed it.


To Hard format your Nokia S60 phone & put everything back to the way it was when first started, follow these instructions:

1. Make sure you have at least 3/4 charge of battery power left.

2. Backup your contacts list and personal files to MMC memory card.

3. Switch-off your phone.

4. Press and hold 3 keys;

Green dial key, * (star key) & no. 3 key and then press the power on/off to swtich on the phone.

Remember, do not let go all of the keys and hold keys until you see a formatting word screen show!

5. After a few minutes when the Full phone formatting completed, your will back to original system and factory settting.

All apps installed & not of the phones' default will be lost. If you did a backup on your mmc, you can restore it back to the C drive again.


To format your memory card,
Menu-> Extras -> Memory-> Options-> Format Card

there is a software called the MsvDrive which you can use to transfer all the incomming msgs to mmc . . . .do tell me if it works. ..
