Dennis Hopper?

I was once told Dennis Hopper was in a band . I think it was for a short time . Anyone have any idea what the name of the band was ? I am thinking it was Buffalo Springfield (for whats its worth is the song that comes to mind ).Please let me know if anyone knows this for sure or what the name of the band was if he did belong to one.

There is a band called Dennis Hopper, kind of a violent act. Dennis himself has been in some music videos and such recently with the Gorillaz. I was surprised that he is a staunch republican. So much for the easy rider rep.
