i am not an expert...as in i am not a vet...but i have cared for pet injuries at home for many years. it is possible the fall numbed a nerve in his hip and it makes him not move it...it is possible he may have broke a bone in his foot...but if he is eating and drinking and otherwise acting normal...i wouldnt rush him to the vet. hamsters are a small animal, smaller animals tend to bounce more than break (here i am not including small breed dogs who are notorious for breaking their legs) i would suggest to observe him over the weekend (as there may not even be a vet handy til monday anyway) watch his stools..if they look black and sticky, then it means he is bleeding internally...then you need to get him to a vet ASAP! most likely, he will begin using that leg again in a few hours, so if he doesnt, well...it is your choice, you can take him to the vet and they will xray him...but if he does have broken bones in his feet, and they are not made worse by handling him for the next 2 weeks any more than you must...they will heal on their own.

If he doesnt squeal when you touch it he should be fine. Acting normally means he is not in any immense amount of pain, and he is not in any shock.
Here is a little story maybe to put your mind at ease.
I have a 2 year old hamster (1 of 6-I breed them) called Tuts. She belonged to a freind of mine, who wasnt taking care of her. When I got her, I discovered a BATTERY in with her hoardings. A few burns she seems ok. It turns out she has CYSTITIS from poor care, previously. She recovered fine from that too.
I let a young freind handle Tuts for a while while I did dinner 1 night, and walked into the bedroom where the 2 were in time to see the girl throw the hamster in the air.TUTS HIT THE CEILING AND FELL TO THE FLOOR. I was so angry! This girl was 13 at the time, has a hamster of her own.old enough to know better. Amazingly she was fine!!!
Then Tuts previous owner (13 years old too) came round and we were playing with her and the others in the garden, and the girl picked tuts up,dropped her,SMACK ONTO THE CONCERETE. I put cold cotton wool in her mouth and leaned her forward cos she was gushing BLOOD.
GUESS WHAT? fine.
that was 4 months ago. she has had a couple of strokes, which makes her back legs weak, but the vet said there was no need to have her put to sleep if she is ok in herself.
TUTS IS CURRENTLY TRYING TO CLIMB UPSIDE DOWN ALONG HER CAGE.
Mental problems prehaps??
Hope this helps

No need to rush to the Vets, just yet. Just keep an eye on him. If in a week or two things are not back to normal then I would check with the vets. Good Luck

I have bred rats and mice for years. Hamsters are not that different. He is hurt, honey. You need to call a vet. Most clinics, even in the boonies, have night staff available. Call...god bless him.
