i really really want the new iPhone, but i feel really guilty about asking my parents for something that is so expensive. they most likely will, but my question is, since its a phone, there will be a monthly bill right? how much would it be monthly? ive never had a phone before, so i dont really know a lot about them. the plan would be on cingular, and my parents have cingular too so would that save them money?

It's through Cingular, so the minimum PHONE plan would probably be 30 or 40 bucks, that's the bare minimum, few hundred minutes and *maybe* nights and weekends, no text messages (you can add those for 5/10/15 dollars more depending on how much you plan on texting).

And for other PDA phones/Palm PC Phones, you need to pay for a monthly fee for its special features (internet, e-mail, media access, etc.), the minimum plan for that would be an additional 30 or 40... So you're looking at a bill that's at least 70 a month, on top of the activation fee and phone cost for the first month. I doubt the iPhone gets any special exception to this data-access plan (or I'd hope not, that would be ridiculous).

It all depends on which plan you get that your phone will be on and any extras, not the phone. The price of the phone is payed up front.

if you are talking about a cell phone they can be very expensive especially if you go over your minutes, now you can go to walmart and get a prepaid phone and you buy your own minutes on a phone card i think thats the best bet
