i own a repair shop, and yes it can be done,i have done it ,but its very dangerous to do,when you by pass the switch it has to have the emergency brake on at all times or it will roll away if you leave it in neutral, and if you don't leave it in neutral it wont start,i did this to one,and the owner had me switch it back,he said he forgot to take it out of neutral and hit the starter button, and it tried to start and it in gear, its very dangerous to do ,but if you can remember to have it in neutral and always use the e-brake it can be done, good luck i hope this help,s.

Remote start on a stick shift is illegal, not just "not recommended" - as is bypassing the safety switch on the clutch. If you should accidentally start the car remotely while it is in gear, you will be liable for all damage is does - and your insurance won't cover any of it, since the car was deliberately made unsafe. Imagine what would happen if you accidentally pushed the start button while it was in your pocket. And, even if it is used, the e-brake on most cars is not strong enough to stop the engine from starting.

i wouldn't do that on a manual. what if you leave it in first and you start your car remotely? your car will be like the batmobile for like 2 secs .
