I was in Albany New York, at a Hotel...in an elevator...and in walked A.J. McLean from the Backstreet Boys, he was holding a pair of running shoes in his hand...I pretended I didn't know who he was.

I was shopping at a grocery store in Grand Junction, Colorado at Christmas time while visiting a friend. I was in the bakery and a guy with his wife and child asked me if I knew where they kept the cakes and pies and I showed him where they were. I talked with him for a minute before I realized he was the actor Rick Schroeder from Lonesome Dove & NYPD Blue. I kept talking as if i didn't know who he was because I was so impressed by his down to earth "non-celebrity" attitude.
He asked me what I was doing for the holidays and I got the idea that the were maybe going to invite me to their house, but I had already promised my friend that I would watch his kids while he and his wife went skiing.
It turns out that he owns a ranch near there and is quite active in the community. It was cool.
I also met Eddie Vedder at The Guitar Center in Sacramento, but I was just one of the thousands that spoke to him that day.

Only half a dozen.
I asked an important question of Eva Marie Saint after the presentation, when she visited our movie class alog with John Housman at UCLA. I talked to actors Liam Sullivan and Will Kuluva and Kendall Clark. Among athletes, I met Cleveland Indians pitcher Bob Chakales, Dee Fondy of the Chicago Cubs, Olympic sprinter Rey Norton and tennis legend Arthur Ashe. And recently we had dinner with famous 100 year-old ceramicist Eva Zeisel, when my wife curated her show here in San Diego. I wish I had met more important people, the deservingly famous--like my friend my used to repair television sets for celebrities or my wife who did appraisals of their holdings when she worked in New York.

My husband and I went into the city for a Brooks and Dunn concert. (famous country music group) Before the concert, we visited the aquarium near the stadium. This gentleman walked up, in sweatpants, hat and sunglasses and asked my husband for the time. He spoke in a thick southern drawl. It turns out, it was Kix Brooks....one half of Brooks and Dunn. Awesome!
