Tuesday, March 27, 2007, has been designated as the day for Parent-Teacher conferences. Students will be dismissed from school at 11:50 a.m. Please make arrangements for your child’s dismissal.

Does it mean that arrangements should be made to take the child home from the school? Or does it mean something else?

yes, it means arrangements should be made to take the child home from the school.

they will 'dismiss' the children at 11:50 - that means school closes then.

It means please make sure the child has a ride home Basically, they just want to alert the parents that the child will be out of school after 11:50 so that parents can make arrangements with babysitters or rides or whatever.

Yes, It means the school will be dismissing at 11:50 am and someone needs to be there to pick up the kids or be at home when the bus drops them off.

You are correct. It means you should make arrangements for your child. This was not worded very well, so I can understand your confusion. More than likely, they are trying to politely tell you that your child can't be present during parent/teacher conferences.

Go to the school and see that your child gets in your car with you at 11:50 a.m. The school does not want anyone to harm your child. (Or make sure that you tell your child who you will be sending to bring them home that day.)

You must make certain that your child is picked up on that day at that time. The school is giving you the opportunity to know that you must get off work early or have a babysitter or family member pick up your child, so you don't have to wait until the last minute.

if it's a public school, then it means you should have child care ready because the bus will be dropping off the child early. If it's private, it may mean that you have to arrange for transportation.

it means find some way for your child to get home becuase clearly you are an idiot and can not take care of him.

why dont you call your hopelessly screwed-for-life child's school and ask them what it means so they take pity on him?
