Copy the URL (the link on the top right) from youtube. In metacafe when you click the 'DOWNLOAD VIDEO' button below the video, a link appears that is the URL.
Now go to keepvid.com download the Free FLV player.
To download click on the green button below the Grren coloured box. It is written there "Click Here for a Free FLV Player". Then a page appears. Scroll down and click on Download just FLV Player.
Now go back to the main page. Paste the copied URL in the Green coloured Box on top of the page. Choose the site from where u r downloading it. Click download.

If the only audio in the Video is the song that you want, go to www.vixy.net , paste the URL in there and save it as "Audio Only (MP3)"
You won't need to download any special software or anything to do it.

u cannot download video songs from youtube. If ur trying to download video songs in orkut or gmail, than save a video clip on ur desktop and click on google video link on orkut and than click browse button to attach a video song on ur orkut or gmail account.
