I'm not sure but I think he would be pretty apolitical. George Bernard Shaw makes a pretty good case for Jesus being the first socialist. Go figure. I think Jesus would agree with a lot of the liberal rhetoric (though he would abhor the actual practice) of helping the poor, the needy and the downtrodden.
The difference between conservatives and liberals is the use of coercive force. If you don't pay your taxes to fund liberals' social engineering schemes, they will seize your assets and throw you in jail. Conservatives would be more in line with Jesus in that they believe in voluntary deeds, not compulsory deeds.
Jesus also said, "give unto Caesar what is Caesar's." So, I think Jesus wouldn't really care about the political process at all.

teachings of Jesus perfectly aligned with the conservative platform? ... ... ... WRONG. so wrong.
how many conservatives do you see working to ease suffering in ghettoes, the homeless, the poor and destitute? thats considered liberal jargon. conservatives want to remain strong through remaining the same. liberals primarily want progress, protection for the weak, the disadvantaged, equality, and a quality life for everyone.
Jesus taught brotherly love, peace, sharing, acceptance, tolerance, and all that loving stuff... not the judgemental, intolerant, bigotry commonly (but to be fair, certainly not always) part of being conservative.
if dems give less to charities, its because they arent so arrogant to promote themselves as excellent, good, Christians. donating to charities makes conservatives feel better about being bad people.
i'm a democrat and i believe in God and Jesus, but i don't pretend to be a "good" Christian and try to control the world so that it's more Godly according to narrow interpretation of His word.
i personally think Jesus would be a left-leaning independent, but that's just me.
besides... if liberals are the weakling weenies and the conservatives the strong warriors o' God, who, exactly, will inherit the earth?

Jesus always favored the underdog, and he said that it would be harder for a rich man to get into Heaven than for a camel to climb through the eye of a needle, so no, he would NOT be a Republican.
Remeber how angry he was when the money changers took over the temple for sales?
Remember when he told those who were about to execute the harlot to "let he, who is without sin cast the first stone?"
It's the Republicans who approve of capitol punishment, so again Jesus would definitely NOT be a Republican.
The Republicans are for big business and love giving tax cuts to rich people but the Democrats are for the working class and the underpriveleged of America, so again Jesus would NOT be a Republican.

not at all.
jesus was for helping the poor- he thought rich people would have a very difficult time getting into heaven
he was for forgiveness-I think today he would be for rehibilitation for inmates and against the death penalty
he was against war- how could he be a conservative?
he thought religion and government should be sperated- let what is ceazar's be ceazar's and what is god's be god's
he also judged no one- read the people he healed and/or ministered to in the bible. then consult a historian. it can be inferred that one of the men was living as a female, another was gay, and some of the females were very promiscuous and didn't believe in the sanctity of marriage
(the sanctity of marriage is about respecting marriage and not getting divorced multible times. nothing more)
I don't think Jesus could even be considered a moderate. he is left-wing expect for one or two issues

Jesus grow to be no longer a political type. in reality, he prevented the topic matters of taxation except to point that we ought to continually render unto Ceasar what's Ceasars. it is faulty to even advise that Jesus will be in want of tax cuts for the wealthy (this has never take position, yet Democrats declare any tax decrease is for the right, yet they imagine wealthy is over $30,000 in line with 3 hundred and sixty 5 days), severe money owed or countless conflict. fortuitously, authentic Republicans (Neo-Cons are fairly Democrats who've taken over the Republican get mutually.) do not help those both. Jesus grow to be no longer political and the things you advise Republicans help are lies. the reality is Jesus would advise you end mendacity about those you disagree with and quite pray for them. i am going to wish for you.

No actually think about, reaching out to tax collectors, prostitutes, lepers, the outcasts and the lowest rungs of society. Preaching that all men (and women) are brothers and equal in the eyes of God. Speaking out against those who had the power and those entrenched in the current dogma of there religion. For the time Jesus would have been one of the most liberal people walking the earth.

I believe that Jesus would want people to strive to be the best that they can be by supporting themselves, living responsibility and not being enslaved to a socialist system which stifles their incentive, enables their mind set that the government and others owe them a minimal living.
It's A or B. If you can get a hand-out and a government decides the life you should ive or get out and use the brain and talent God gave you, what would you choose.
Too many take the easy way out and the enabler liberals try to label this compassion.
It is simply another form of slavery. Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly. He came to set us free and to use the talents that God endowed us with.

Jesus was an unemployed, unmarried carpenter who wandered around the countryside encouraging other men to abandon their families and follow him and listen to his speeches. He lived off the land and other people's charity. He performed miracles of fishes and bread, wine at weddings and raising people from the dead while urging people to love their neighbors, help the poor and sick, and overcome prejudices.
I really don't get the whole Republican connection or even family values connection. Sounds fishy to me.

He would be a conservative libertarian. But to the sliding scale of socio-political alignments, in line with the other leaders of his time he would have been considered a liberal for his views on social change. that said, the liberals of this day and age would have nothing to do with this guy, they wouldn't care for his (ahem) Judeo-Christian values, or piercing moral judgements.
