ok my boyfriend and i have had unprotected sex several times and i have never gotten pregnant, he tells me it's because he smokes herb and supposedly that's why his semen won't get me pregnant...I've never heard this before, but i'm just wondering if the use of marijuana could reduce the sperm in semen....Thank you!!!

Lay off the stuff. It's time to grow up and become responsible adults.
And, use birth control and condoms if you insist on having sex outside of marriage. You wouldn't want to bring a child into an environment like the one you describe, would you?

It can reduce sperm count ... but he could still get you pregnant from unprotected sex and no birth control. He'd have to be totally sterile to not get your pregnant anytime ... He is BSing you, sorry. Stick to condoms and birth control unless you want to risk having a baby right now.

The use of marijauna can lessen the amount of sperm BUT significantly enough to change the possibilty of pregnancy.
WHY on earth are you having unprotected sex. FIRST OF ALL, you are submitting yourself to the possiblity of aids and/or sexually transmitted diseases. Also even if your partner is clean, women can get HPV just by having sex unprotected. ( even if he is clean).. and HPV can lead to cervical cancer. ALSO why are you gambling with pregnancy. WEAR PROTECTION. Do not listn to him that his sperm is THAT much lower because of weed. USE PROTECTION or you WILL get pregnant. Make him use a condom, or AT LEAST get on the pill ASAP and do not have sex unprotected until you are ON the pill.

It does reduce sperm count, but that's not a very good measure against getting pregnant.

First off, 90% of sperm die before going in and actually traveling inside the vagina... the 10% do stupid things then eventually make it in... herb speeds sperm up to the point that they get tired... but it only takes one little basturd to get pregnant! your boyfriend's been smokin' to much herb if you ask me.

that's stupid and he is stupid for telling you that. it may lower the sperm count a LITTLE, but not enough to make him sterile. you need to stop having unprotected sex. do you know how many STD's are floating around nowadays? and besides, if you get pregnant do you really want to have an ignorant pot head to be your baby's daddy?

The reduction is very small. You can still get pregnant, you two have just been very very lucky. Get on birth control or us condoms if you dont want kids.
