Major difference is the core one DOES NOTinclude a hard drive...and to save you need to pick one up anyway...
Also does not include the ultra cool wireless control ....
Also does not Include free silver online xbox live .. ...& demos to get you started incase you dont have games yet......BUt All of this Does come with the premium 360
If you are a gamer... there is no option... seriously the 400 dollar one is the way to go .... i got mine in october and im so happy i did... i love it!

the 300 dollar version has wired controllers,no hard drive($100)
the 400 dollar version has wireless controllers,a hard drive,and i think it has 12 months of xbox live(not sure if the $300 has xbox live or not)

the core package has no harddrive, no wireless contoller, and no HD cables. the premium($400) has a wireless controller, harddrive and includes HD cables. if you buy a core system and then you add the wireless controller and harddrive, it costs more than the ppremium. so if you want to buy a system, buy the $400 xbox360.

no, seriously it's all in the hard drive. this is what's gonna enable you to play and save both xbox and xbox 360 games. it's only 100.00 more, just go with the upgrade now or you'll be wishing you had. Guaranteed.

i personaly wouldn't buy an 360 at all, there have been a lot of complaints about it due to "hardware malfunctions" which in most happen just after the 12 month warrenty...
