My father has a Masters degree in English from the University of Colorado and my mother has a Masters in speech language pathology (or something like that) from CU

My dad doesn't really have a job that relates much to his degree.
My mum has only worked part time since having kids, she used to work in a hospital/rehab center making more money, but switched to a school.
Combined they make about 70,000 I suppose.

I plan on getting a Masters in biomedical engineering though.. if things work out right i should be making 60k-80k after a bit of time.

Ah, depends on what the degree is in, and where it is from! I'd looooove to have a master's from john hopkin's!

$40 to $50 K to start.

It was in computer science and their masters project was designing the intra net for the Institute of Mental Heath

From there they went to tour with a rock band and then to Barclays bank in England. Now he's in Singapore as a consultant and he's written 12 books on Perl Programming.

On the other hand, my friend with a PH D makes about what I do, 20K. She's a commie who won't work for a Fortune 500 company.

I will graduate with one in May. Usually the first years pay after receiving your Master's is about $6,000 to $10,000 more a year than with just a Bachelor's...but it all depends on the industry in which you work and on the company in which you work.
