Sure, they almost always get along fine as long as they have a little room. Occasionally you might get a betta or a guppy that is a bit fin nippish or has a bit of a nasty attitude, but it's fairly rare.

The Betta will not kill the guppies but 50% of the time the Betta will ruin the fancy guppy tail. Put the Betta in overnight. Look at the fish in the morning. You will be able to notice right away if bites are missing out of the guppy tail. However, guppy's tail will grow back

It all depends...
In my experience we've had many community fish with bettas in a 10 gal tank no prob., but only if the other fish were there first and comfortable with their territory. The betta will find his place. Once a molly had babies and the betta ate quite a few before we could rescue them. You can't turn down that kind of feed. Take the betta out and allow the guppy(s) to become at home then reintroduce the betta with a mirror on the outside of the tank and he will occupy himself. It's not 100% because some bettas are more passive than others. Good luck.

My Daughter's Betta's were extremely aggressive, they have to live separated in a small area or tank. The male will actually swim until his fins are ragged in trying to defend his area! This is why the Betta fish is better kept in a small tank by itself , except for a female Betta. Any other smaller fish will be considered a threat to his area and he will destroy them! Betta's are very aggressive fish and nature has made them this way as a survival tactic when they are actually living where they belong in this world. I like their color and spunk in defending their home! A Betta is cool, but not for guppies.

No, you cannot have betta living with guppies. The flowing fin resembles too much of another male betta. Additionally, the tank would need to be large with places to hide for ANY fish in the tank. As a pre-teen I had a male betta for five years, not knowing any better I put six female bettas in the tank (a five gallon tank with places to hide) and only two were barely alive when I finally found out why he was killing them.

Bettas are great and beautiful fish, but they are aggressive and any fish put in the tank must not resemble a male betta, must have room and places to hide, as well as having similar habitat needs (i.e. Goldfish should not live with Japanese Fighting Fish/Bettas).

Good luck!

No, guppies look too much like a betta, you cannot add anything with a flowing fin

Tetras tend to be a lright with bettas as long as the tank is big enough, and you are not using a betta house/bowl

Yes, no worries, unless you get a large fancy male guppy.

Those look a little like small betta, and some betta males may not know the diff.

I've had regular guppies in a ten gallon tank many times with no issues.

i wouldnt do that putting them together cause i have a betta fish and i usedo had guppy fish also but anymore . because when at happen when my sister didnt even know that my betta fish hates other fishes so she put them all together in a tank and sudden my fish attacked and killed my guppy to death with nothing left in the tank instead a tiny piece of my poor guppy tail . so they dont even do get together at all .

I personally tried that and ended up removing the guppy, the Betta wouldn't stop tormenting him, chasing and nipping, etc. I would only add another fish that is a little bigger and is considered a peaceful community fish. Also, the tank needs to allow at least a gallon for each fish, larger is always best though.

You can put a guppy in with the Betta, but the Betta will kill it. Bettas are very territorial and will fight or kill any other fish that you put with it. Including other Bettas.
