A Southeast Asian country. If you are well-qualified the most money is available from Japan first and Taiwan second (I realize they are not Southeast Asian, I am just saying if you want the most money). But I would like to spend time in Thailand and Malaysia, maybe Vietnam.
I do not know about Mainland China. I lived and worked in Shanghai for 7 months and it was great but I am not sure about the payscale and availability of jobs for TESOL

Good luck.

oh, not the Philippines. there are even Filipinos teaching English outside of this country especially in Thailand, China and Vietnam. mind you, we are the most English grammar conscious people. Yeah, some do not really speak that well, but can write correctly. Transcriptions (entertainment, legal, business and medical) are being done here. You might as well be surprised of the call centers being outsourced in this country that caters to US clients.

the philippines..
thought they are fairly good english speakers they need to learn proper grammer and pronounciation..
that country is very poor and the only way they could make money is to work in different countries like the USA and for that they need to be able to speak proper english..
if you do choose to go there i promise you people there are very welcoming. but i must warn you since it is a poor country your going to see small children running around with no supervision and your going to feel sorry for them..
Good luck to you..

i guess that is a good idea, and you'll get to know kids from different countries and learn their history and everything, plus you'll learn new languages. I don't know what country you should go first but if it was me i would go near the U.S.A just in case something goes wrong or you don't like it ( hopefully nothing will ) then you can be close to your country and family.

It depends on what other languages you speak. If you speak Spanish I'd suggest Spain.
