The real deal with the Bermuda triangle is that there are strips of iron-bearing rock layers on the sea bed around Bermuda (emitted in the mid-Atlantic constructive plate boundary). These attract and confuse compass needles, which when combined with adverse weather which can occur in the Atlantic caused ships and planes to be lost.

There is quite a big incidence of cloud funnels over there- where a cloud merges into the sea. This is a very dangerous phenomenon which can look like ordinary white cloud from afar- this means disappearances can be a mystery.

Modern technology means these problems are circumvented- a radio compass always gives true direction even near thunderstorms or iron deposits, the large container ships of today can survive cloud funnels while weather reporting can predict them (to an extent) for smaller ships to avoid.

The Bermuda triangle which talks about the strange disappearance of ships and planes is an urban legend. It's just another monster under the bed which is not based on fact.

The biggest mystery about the Bermuda Triangle is that there really are idiots that believe there is something out of the ordinary.
